In general, the Hudson Valley is a cool place to adventure and explore. It’s a place of funky towns, farms, culture, and the arts, and it recently made its way among the “25 Best Places to Visit in 2020” according to Forbes.
The Hudson Valley was among 24 other locations including New Orleans, Louisiana; Vail, Colorado; Sun Valley, Idaho; Southern Utah, and more. Devorah Lev-Tov, a Brooklyn-based food and travel writer chose the Valley and picked a few of the places to explore this new year.
Lev-Tov mentioned newly opened places from Hudson Valley Food Hall in Beacon and the Mirbeau Inn & Spa in Rhinebeck. Making a stop to eat at Lil’ Deb’s Oasis was featured. The chef-owners were nominated for the Best Chef: Northeast James Beard Award in 2019.
For hiking or bike riding, the new Empire State Trail, a 750-mile route connecting to Hudson Greenway Trails was discussed and how the trail is planned to be finished at the end of 2020.
From restaurants to outdoor activities, there’s always something booming in the area. Recently opened restaurants in the Hudson Valley include RŪNA Bistro in New Paltz and Mix N Mac in Wappingers Falls, just to name a few.
More on the list for 2020 include City Winery, with plans to open its doors in Montgomery with a café, tasting room, and outdoor area. Legoland New York Resort working towards a July 4, 2020 opening date with new attractions like hotels, restaurants, homes, and warehouses in Goshen and the surrounding area.
