Robert Durst Connected To Missing Vermont Girl

Middlebury Police have connected the notorious Durst to yet another disappearance

There’s another hill in the media rollercoaster that has been Robert Durst’s life these past few weeks.

On Monday, Middlebury, Vermont, police released a statement saying they’ve possibly connected Durst, who was just charged with the 2000 murder of Susan Berman, with the 1971 disappearance of 18-year-old Lynne Schulze. According to the police statement, Durst, a Scarsdale High School alum, owned and ran the All Good Things health-food store in Middlebury at the time of Schulze’s disappearance.

“We are aware of the connection between Robert Durst and the disappearance of Lynne Schulze. We have been aware of this connection for several years and have been working with various outside agencies as we follow this lead,” police said in the statement.

Though the case has since been labeled “cold” after its 1992 reopening, police say there have been many leads connected to the case.

Durst’s arrest for the murder of Berman came after his “confession” on HBO’s The Jinx after unwittingly speaking into a hot mic after an interview with the documentary’s director, Andrew Jarecki. The documentary covered Durst’s possible connection to the 1982 disappearance of his wife Kathie; the death of Berman; and the 2001 death of Morris Black in Galveston, Texas. At the end of the documentary, in an audio clip from an old interview, Durst is heard saying, “What the hell did I do? Killed them all, of course.” This, of course, can possibly be used in court against him.

The story and investigation are currently ongoing.
