Every once in a while, you just need a little retail therapy; but over the past few years we’ve seen precious little in the way of new stores in our shopping centers. Thankfully, the Retail Group of America has stepped in to help us out. In October, the company opened 22 new, fashion-forward European retail stores — like the British Accessorize (bold jewelry and trendy hats and scarves), Spanish Cortefiel (a 68-year-old brand exuding comfort and functionality), and French Jennyfer (collections that mesh contemporary trends with Parisian chic) — in our local malls.
That’s seven in the Palisades Center, six in the Poughkeepsie Galleria, four in the Galleria at Crystal Run, and five in the Crossgates Mall. And savvy shoppers can’t forget about the October grand opening of the Shops at Nanuet — the 750,000 square-foot, open-air mall that was once the Nanuet Mall — which brings us auspicious American brands like Michael Kors and J. Crew. If all this isn’t motivation enough to save up for a shopping spree, we don’t know what is.
