Between the economic downturn and the awful winter we’ve just lived through — did the temperature rise above 30 degrees even once in January or February? — it’s time for some big-time stress relief. So the return of Spa Week (Apr. 13-19) comes not a moment too soon. Now in its 10th year, this nationwide event showcases the services offered at more than 750 spas from Seattle to Manhattan. In keeping with the country’s belt-tightening mood, many of these services — including elite treatments like the 10 Hands massage (performed by five therapists simultaneously) and medical procedures such as Botox injections — are available for just $50. Participating spas have also highlighted special “steals and deals,” with healthy discounts on everything from facials and manicures to laser therapy for varicose veins. More than 100 New York spas — including (as of press time) at least five located in Westchester County — are on board to help us all relax and rejuvenate. Now, if we could just get our portfolio manager — and the weatherman — to do the same. Visit www.spaweek.com for a list of participating spas.
