Resorts World Catskills Celebrates Luxury Expansion

Celebrity guests, circus performances, and a champagne tower mark the occasion.

Have you heard about the Hudson Valley’s newest casino? Located in Monticello, Resorts World Catskills opened to the public on February 8 as a 100,000 sq ft casino and hotel venue. This May, the resort celebrates the completion of its luxury expansion, which adds an entertainment and gaming complex to the site, with celebrity guest appearances, a restaurant opening, and an exciting performance line-up.

The party kicked off on May 13 with a performance by acclaimed comedian Jerry Seinfeld. Over the weekend, the Grand Opening Gala welcomed hundreds of guests, including celebrities like Phil Simms, Neil Patrick Harris, and Adrian Grenier. The larger-than-life housewarming party featured a champagne tower, a bubble contortionist, and performances by cirque du soleil-style acrobats.

On Friday, May 18, singer-songwriter Gavin DeGraw takes the stage at the resort. The following day, celebrity chef Scott Conant hosts the grand opening of Cellaio, his new Italian influenced steakhouse.

“With the completion of our world-class gaming and entertainment complex, we are ready to provide our guests with the ultimate luxury gaming and entertainment experience,” says Ryan Eller, President and CEO of Resorts World Catskills, in a statement. “We’re eager to support the initiative of bringing entertainment back to the region with our newly opened RW Epicenter and restoring the Catskills as a leading resort destination.”

Currently, the resort boasts 2,150 slot machines, over 150 live game tables, and 10 bars and restaurants. Guests at the 18-story all-suite hotel can stay in garden and penthouse suites and two-story villas as they take advantage of the onsite Crystal Life Spa, two fitness centers, and the 2,500-seat RW Epicenter.

In 2019, expect to see two more additions: a Rees Jones-redesigned golf course and the Kartrite Hotel and Indoor Waterpark. With so much to do in one epic destination, it’s safe to say you may never want to leave.
