2019 was a year of rebirth and rejuvenation for the Hudson Valley. So many historic spaces found new life in the region, from an old pyschiatric hospital in Poughkeepsie to a factory-turned-cidery in Newburgh and a trolley barn in Dutchess County. Food had a major moment too. Although we said goodbye to The Village TeaRoom in New Paltz, we welcomed a baking studio in Hudson, a brewery in Poughkeepsie, and a food hall in Troy, to name only a few. And don’t even get us started on all the cool new hotels and B&Bs in the area. From a picturesque bed & breakfast in New Paltz to a vegan fram sanctuary inn in High Falls, there are so many excuses to take an impromptu weekend getaway in the new year. For now though, let’s take a moment to let the nostalgia settle in and reflect on all the stellar stories that came out of 2019. Here’s what had the region buzzing over the past year:
