Nov. 5-7: Goodnight Moon and The Runaway Bunny Author Margaret Wise Brown captured the hearts of children more than 60 years ago with her charming tales of motherly love and bedtime rituals. In this stage production that features puppets, music, and beautiful scenery, Goodnight Moon follows a young boy as he prepares to drift off to sleep. The Runaway Bunny is the story of a small rabbit who wants to run away, but is told by his mother that wherever he goes she will follow because she loves him so much. Nov. 7: Fantasia In honor of the innovative — and now classic — film’s 75th anniversary, the Jacob Burns Film Center presents a special screening. Nov. 7: The Wizard of Oz The Lion, Tin Man, and the Scarecrow need the audience’s help to rescue Dorothy, who’s been captured by the Wicked Witch of the West. Nov. 14: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe C.S. Lewis’s classic story of four children who step through a wardrobe and into a magical land is brought to the stage. Nov. 28: Magic and Beyond Illusionist David Garrity astounds theatergoers with tricks such as sunglasses popping up from fireballs and floating tables. All performances 11 a.m. $9, $7 children. Nov. 14: Fancy Writing With cursive writing facing an uncertain future in our tech-obsessed age, it’s nice to know that some people still appreciate beautiful handwriting. A calligraphy artist examines some 19th-century hand-written letters and teaches participants how to pen beautiful-looking lines themselves. Nov. 28: Zentangle: The Art of Doodling We’ve all been known to doodle in the margins of our notebooks, but did you know there can be a structured method to this form of drawing? Nov. 15: Turkey Scavenger Hunt Tons of toddlers traipse along woodland paths on a traditional “turkey token” hunt.
