Pink Clementine Is a Curated Consignment Space in Kerhonkson

Located on Main Street in Kerhonkson, Pink Clementine takes fashion to the next level with curated vintage and community events.

While the Main Streets in towns like Beacon and New Paltz are known to be bustling destinations for shopping, dining, and culture, Kerhonkson’s Main Steet is on the rise thanks in large part to Lily Feldman and her family. Owner of curated consignment shop Pink Clementine, Feldman’s fashion space is all about one-of-a-kind pieces with an emphasis on community. Along with her partner Chris Weathered, the co-owner and executive chef at Mill & Main restaurant in Kerhonkson, the couple is effectively enlivening the Ulster County town’s Main Street with a passion for their respective businesses.

For Feldman, life in Kerhonkson is a bit of a newer situation, having moved here just over three years ago. After visiting the area with Weathered during his move to open Mill & Main, the trip sparked Feldman’s transition from city life to upstate New York after she fell in love with the town.

Consequently, Kerhonkson seemed to inspire Feldman’s vision for Pink Clementine rather than the other way around, since the idea was born about a year after her move. Feldman recently opened the shop in June as a place for independent artists and women-owned brands to showcase their work. “It’s hard to put into words, but it was just a feeling of wanting to create a space that highlights artists and women and their talents,” says Feldman.

Pink Clementine is as much a community space as it is a goldmine for curated vintage finds. Feldman is a longtime lover of shopping and clothing, especially in the thrifting universe. Growing up in the Bronx, she got heavily invested in secondhand shopping at age 14 when the first thrift store opened close to her home. Her shop is a combination of a love for clothing, the opportunity to give worn pieces the chance at a new life, and the chance to support female designers first-hand.

At the Kerhonkson store, expect to find anything from vintage dresses to a 1950s hand-crocheted bag made from fine wool. Pink Clementine is home to 13 different consigners with work ranging from reworked corsets to silk-pressed halter tops. Among these vendors are Sweet Face, a sustainable custom clothing brand; Rocio Art, a visual artist who specializes in jewelry and printmaking; and Liridona Duraku, an artist showcased at the shop for her tinctures and face oils.

As one half of a power couple in Kerhonkson, Feldman assures that both she and Weathered are extremely passionate about their entrepreneurial endeavors and thankful for their shared success. “We are incredibly lucky and grateful to both be doing what we love. If you took my brain and heart and put it into a space you would see Pink Clementine, and the same goes for Chris and Mill & Main. We are both also really passionate about creating community spaces, and it feels like we are naturally doing that on Main Street, which feels really sweet.”

As they navigate raising their almost three-year-old son together, Feldman shares that it is rewarding to see how he is rooted in the culture that she and Weathered have already started cultivating in Kerhonkson, which is felt when he runs around Main Street to show everyone where his parents work.

While Pink Clementine is just in its beginning stages, Feldman hopes to see the shop grow into a community space and a hub for female artists and designers. Down the road, she plans to run workshops, movement courses, and anything the neighborhood might like. For now, the shop will be doing a monthly pop-up with the Catskills Cocktail Club at Kerhonkson’s Starlite Motel, and maybe Pink Clementine will even collaborate with Mill & Main one day.

Pink Clementine is located at 325 Main Street in Kerhonkson.
