We know, we know. There’s no way the Tappan Zee Bridge construction will be completed this year, but that sure would be nice, wouldn’t it? And imagine if toll prices didn’t skyrocket… well now we know we’re just dreaming.
In 2013, there was talk of the New York Philharmonic possibly purchasing the land across from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park to build their permanent summer residency. Nothing ever made it beyond speculation, but we’d love to see this actually come to fruition.
The West Point Army Black Knights once dominated the college football scene, but their last winning season (when they posted a 7-6 record) was 2010, and the last time before that 1996. Come on Black Knights, we’re rooting for you!
Ah PCBs, the toxins that plague our river and got it dubbed a superfund site. Though cleanup efforts are under way, it’s a long and laborious process. Here’s hoping pollution will be gone for good this year!
Beloved Fun Central, the Wappingers Falls theme park complete with mini golf, bumper boats, and a class A arcade, closed its doors in 2012. For a time, there was a rumor floating around that it would reopen with attractions like go karts and laser tag. Sadly, this hasn’t come to pass yet, but we’d like to see something start up in the new year.
Towards the end of 2014, Daryl Hall, of Hall and Oats fame, opened an eatery in Pawling where fans can enjoy both great food and live music. Look for a larger story from us in the future, but for now, our staffers are dying to try out Daryl’s House some time this year.
