Hudson Valley tourism directors share a hidden gem from their county

Albany

The Shaker Heritage Society in Albany is America’s first Shaker settlement. There are nine remaining original buildings, including the meeting house and restored barn. The property also features an herb garden and hosts several special events throughout the year. 

 

Columbia

Now in its 42nd year, the Ghent Playhouse draws on local talent to put on five excellent productions each season. Don’t miss the PantoLoons’ annual Thanksgiving Panto — a charming show of British holiday tradition — this November.
