Windham Mountain Club, formerly known as Windham Mountain, is widely considered a top destination for winter sports in the Hudson Valley and, earlier in 2023, ownership at the ski resort announced it secured investments from two development families: the Beall family, whose founding member created the restaurant chain Ruby Tuesday, and Kemmons Wilson Hospitality Partners, best known as the founding enterprise behind the Holiday Inn hotel chain. Now, Windham Mountain Club is better than ever thanks to luxurious additions and top-notch attractions that set it apart.
Welcome to the swanky, reimagined Windham Mountain Club
Although the circa-1960 ski resort still offers year-round activities to the public, they have added new, exclusive members-only amenities (this season the initiation fee is $175,000, plus annual dues. Club perks—without an extra fee—are available to members’ children age 35 or younger). Membership includes private locker rooms, on-call concierge, first tracks on skiing trails, access to the Windham Country Club, equipment valet for skiing at Windham Mountain, and priority reservations at the property’s restaurants as well as the spa.
A new spa and fitness center are also in the works, plus a redesigned golf course, a riverfront property, and horseback riding.
The resort has opened four new eateries: The Windham, a club members-only restaurant and lounge with an expansive wine room; Cin Cin!, an elegant Italian spot; Seasons, which serves Lebanese-Mediterranean fare; and the Foodhall, an upscale cafeteria serving soups, sandwiches, and more. A new spa and fitness center are also in the works, plus a redesigned golf course, a riverfront property 30 minutes away on the Hudson for water sports, and members-only horseback riding and sports shooting venues. All amenities will be completed by 2026. (Rentals, lessons, the alpine spa, and tubing park will remain open to winter ticket and season pass holders.) Visit windhammountainclub.com for more info.
An Eye to the Future
Beyond providing capital and resources to the resort’s management team, this investment will considerably expand year-round programming at the mountain. When the snow melts, the resort will offer swimming, racket sports, family activities, and “expansive outdoor all-season adventure activities.” And if that wasn’t enough, this investment will allow Windham to reimagine its existing golf course. “The Wilson family and the Beall family are deeply committed to working with the same great team of current owners and senior leaders to make Windham Mountain a category leader in the East over the next five years,” says Webb Wilson, CEO at Kemmons Wilson Companies. With the help of these exciting additions, the resort will attract even greater volumes of tourism to Greene County.
