Nov. 6-25: Popular in the 1960s, French film actor Yves Montand is perhaps best remembered for his numerous affairs with beautiful women (including Marilyn Monroe, above with Montand). But the actor made 39 films during his 46-year career; it’s said that he died of a heart attack on the set of a film in which he starred as an old man who, in the last scene, dies of a heart attack. Nov. 14: Child’s play: For its second concert of the season, the Albany Symphony welcomes George Li. At the tender age of 14, this piano virtuoso has already earned his classical music stripes with performances on The Martha Stewart Show and From the Top. He performs the Saint-Saëns Piano Concerto No. 2, his signature piece. Nov. 17-22: What do you get when you mix an Alfred Hitchcock thriller, a Raymond Chandler spy novel, and a Monty Python skit? Give up? It’s The 39 Steps, a rollicking theater piece featuring 150 characters (played by just four actors), an on-stage plane crash (yes, really), murder, mayhem — and plenty of good old-fashioned romance. It’s a busy month at Peekskill’s Paramount Center for the Performing Arts. First up: Grammy-winner Rick Springfield, soap-opera heartthrob and singer of the ’80s pop hit, “Jessie’s Girl” (Nov. 7). Gregg Allman (above) — a founder of the iconic Allman Brothers Band — brings his Southern rock sound northward on Nov. 14.
