Where do you stand? A look at two local races — and at a Stormville politician in the making

It’s election time again. America is gearing up to vote and determine who will run the nation for the next four years. While Romney and Obama vie for the most powerful seat in Washington, four Valleyites are also competing for jobs in our country’s capital. Incumbent Nan Hayworth and newcomer Sean Patrick Maloney are battling to represent New York’s 18th Congressional District, while further north, Julian Schreibman is challenging Chris Gibson in the 19th. And we can’t talk local politics without mentioning Nick D’Angelo. Just 20 years old, Stormville’s young “Mr. Conservative” is the campaign manager for Republican Kim Izzarelli, who hopes to win the state Assembly’s 95th District seat. Read on for the full scoop.
