Looking for adventure, or do you just want to cruise leisurely on two wheels? Bicycle trails throughout the Windham area — including expanded trails in the Elm Ridge Wild Forest — offer fun for riders of all abilities.
The Elm Ridge Trail System recently opened FUN loop trails: the non-technical trails are beginner-friendly, but still provide a workout. Prepare for a full day of pedaling, if that’s what you like, since Elm Ridge overall boasts more than 20 miles of mountain biking trails.
For a bigger challenge, try the Windham Mountain Bike Park, the only US stop of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup. A quad lift carries you and your bike to the peak of Windham Mountain. From there, you can barrel down the UCI World Cup and Race The World trails, or tackle new intermediate-level terrain. Rentals, a pump track, lessons, tours, retail facilities, and food and beverages are available at the park.
If all of that is just too much for you, consider the Windham Path, a picturesque two-mile trail that includes a brand-new covered bridge.
