If you happened to catch Fox’s Grease: Live! last night, you may have found yourself swooning over Danny Zuko, played by accomplished stage and screen actor — and Middletown High School graduate — Aaron Tveit. And if you think he looks familiar, he should: he’s showed off his acting chops in noteworthy productions like Les Misérables, Graceland, and Gossip Girl.
Viewers took to Twitter raving about Tveit’s performance and, naturally, his undeniably good looks. Highlights included references to his short-shorts, hip thrusts, and impressive vocals. Even fellow celebrities like Anna Kendrick and Neil Patrick Harris couldn’t hold back their enthusiasm:
Everyone was incredible tonight. Well done @juliannehough @VanessaHudgens @AaronTveit the whole cast and the CREW! #GreaseLive

Super proud of all involved in @GoGrease. Infectious fun, live on a high wire – dangerous yet walkable! Bravo @AaronTveit & @VanessaHudgens

Highlights of Tveit’s performance in Grease: Live! included the classic “Summer Nights,” performed by both Tveit and Julianne Hough (as Sandy); “Greased Lightning,” where Tveit’s dance moves were showcased; and the famous finale “We Go Together.”
Can’t get enough of Tveit? Be sure to swing by Middletown’s Paramount Theatre, where a street sign — dubbed “Aaron Tveit Way” — was erected this past August 31 to honor the actor, who performed at the historic theater as a teen. (The Aaron Tveit Society documented the big moment here.) Congrats, Aaron!
