The biggest chocolate convention in the nation is coming to the Hudson Valley, and if you’re loco for coco, it’s one event you really won’t want to miss. On Sunday, October 21, taste chocolate concoctions from more than 65 Tri-State vendors at Monroe’s historic Museum Village.
And with flowing chocolate fountains, ample samples, and chocolate-covered … everything, it’s basically Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory come to life — except the chances of you turning into a blueberry are pretty slim.
But if you’re thinking, “Whoa, that’s way too much chocolate,” rest assured that vendors go beyond the bar with a diverse selection of baked goods and specialty foods. If you’re adventurous, try the chocolate-covered bacon from Bacon Bites, or the range of chocolate salad dressings from JD Gourmet.
Wine vendors like Americana Vineyards, Adirondack Winery and Pazdar Winery will give the “chocolate bar” new meaning with tastings of their chocolate wine, while spirit purveyors like Lake George Distilling will provide samples of their house-distilled moonshine, bourbon, and whisky. And to get you in the fall-festive mood, New Paltz’s Yankee Folly Cidery will offer hard cider tastings.
