Where in the Hudson Valley…?
Love it or hate it — everyone seems to know all about the imposing Palisades Center Mall that towers over I-87 in Rockland County. Apparently, many of our readers are also well aware of the little cemetery that is tucked away right next to the megamall (and which was pictured in our September issue). But it takes more than just fashion sense to know that the graveyard situated near the Target store at this West Nyack shopping center is Mount Moor Cemetery, the burial grounds of African-American soldiers from long-ago battles. Congratulations to Cathy Imburgia of Highland Mills for being the first to correctly identify the location of this historic place. This month’s quiz is sure to have readers picking their brains.
Despite being surrounded by the large mall (supposedly the second largest in the country), parking lots, and ring roads, the cemetery still is able to maintain a peaceful setting.

Get Your Fix
A client who recently brought a framed oil painting to us for restoration work mentioned that he learned about our restoration services while visiting his dentist’s office last month. An Educated Decision
We read with great interest the article titled “Public vs. Private High Schools” (August 2008), and agree that the issue of public vs. private schooling really comes down to an issue of choice. There is no single school (whether public, private, or independent) that is a good fit for every child, as each student has unique learning needs and responds differently to a particular learning environment.
