Actor Josh Radnor Among Powerhouse Theater’s Exciting Lineup

The TV sitcom favorite and Powerhouse regular will be presenting his new comedy alongside several other acclaimed theater pros.

Poughkeepsie’s Vassar College is home to the Vassar and New York Stage and Film’s Powerhouse Theater (known around these parts as just the Powerhouse Theater for short). No matter the length of their name, they must be doing something right because two 2016 Tony-winning productions, Hamilton and The Humans, got their start as workshops at Powerhouse.

This week, season subscriptions to Powerhouse’s 33rd season went on sale, with single tickets becoming available May 16, and the plays they plan to present from June 23 through July 30 are most definitely something to write home about. Most notably, How I Met Your Mother’s Josh Radnor’s new psychedelically-influenced comedy, Sacred Valley, is making its premiere from June 29 to July 9.

Additionally, two new musicals will be presented from Tony-winning playwrights: Stilyagi by Lisa Kron, and The Secret Life of Bees co-written by Grammy-winning songwriter Duncan Sheik. Plus, The Big Short’s Hamish Linklater is presenting his play, Paris, Actors, at Powerhouse’s annual reading festival.
