Here's Where to Shop This Small Business Saturday

Black Friday shopping at big box stores sure sounds tempting if you’re looking to save this holiday season. But we’ve all heard about the crazy-long lines and 6 a.m. horror stories where every year someone nearly loses a limb. So before you set your alarm extra early for Friday morning, we’re here to tell you that there’s a better solution — and it’s trample-free. Shop local this Small Business Saturday, and you’ll not only conquer your holiday gift list, but also give back to your community. These local vendors are just a few of the many local shops participating and, this year, the sales are big.

Stray from the masses at Woodbury Commons and shop over 30 of your favorite local vendors at the seventh annual Small Business Saturday Shop Hop in Cornwall. Then stroll through the Sugar Loaf Art & Craft Village for giveaways, refreshments, and locally crafted gifts. If you’re up to it, don’t forget to swing by Kaliada Boutique in Warwick for a community celebration that loops in discounts, food and drink, free gift wrapping, and even a gift with purchase.

Mark the start of the holiday season with a memorable trip to Historic Huguenot Street, but, before you leave, be sure to check out the Museum Shop for local holiday shopping. For New Paltz specials, follow along with the Regional Chamber’s Facebook page for up-to-the-minute deals.

Before you shop ’til you drop, stop by the Residence Inn by Marriott Poughkeepsie for free mindful yoga sessions. Bring the kids at 10 or 11 a.m. for a morning stretch the whole family can enjoy. Then head to Surviving Sisters Boutique in Hyde Park for daylong clothing deals. If you’d rather score on vinyl, swing by Darkside Records for surprise discounts and exclusive releases. To really get into the spirit of the season, head to Soukup Farms in Dover Plains to sample Hudson Valley products and try out the farm’s new maple syrups. There will also be wreaths, trees, mulled cider, donuts, s’mores, and holiday cookies to get visitors in the seasonal swing of things.

Shop for literally everyone on your list on Main Street in Cold Spring for deals and great finds to guarantee a happy holiday for even your pickiest recipient.
