Catskill Mountain Yoga Festival – July 23

Held for the second year on top of Plattekill Mountain in Roxbury, this wellness event is quite possibly the best day of the year for any yogi (or aspiring yogi). Join Raegan Reed, owner of The Cardio Club and yoga/fitness connoisseur, and headliner Kelly Kamm (known for her yoga storytelling), along with many other amazing yoga instructors.

This event aims to bring together a community of yogis for a day of healing, movement, and meditation. All are welcome, and those who purchase a basic or VIP class pass can take part in the yoga classes all day long. VIP holders will be guaranteed a swag bag with Tay Tea, Roman Roasters Coffee, hair products, and much more. General admission passes are available for purchase if you want to check out vendors and other happenings while friends and family are attending yoga classes. Experience over 25 vendors and shop for kombucha, delicious treats, soaps, cream, jewelry, and more. There will also be tarot card readings, henna tattoos, and workshops. The day concludes with a delicious tapas mix and mingle courtesy of event coordinator, Raegan Reed.

During the yoga festival, guests can look forward to the sound bath healing session, a restorative meditation, and workshops such as radical wild foraging, in which those who attend will be educated on how wild plants can benefit your health. There is something for everyone, even if you are new to yoga, including unique classes such as yoga trapeze (that makes use of a trapeze apparatus for a deeper stretch) and aerial yoga (where you are suspended from silks). Be sure to read the class descriptions online before registering and check out the event on Instagram @catskillmountainyogafestival. Visit catskillmountainyogafestival.com to purchase passes.

Discover Manitoga – May 13 through November 14

Open Friday to Monday, May 13 through November 14, MANITOGA is a must-visit when it comes to getting active while enjoying beautiful art and architecture. Experience the home, studio, and garden of Russel Wright (1904-1976). Wright was a pioneer industrial designer who built his home on the ledge of a rock within an abandoned quarry. His unique Hudson Valley home contains various outdoor rooms that work with the surrounding landscape, creating an architectural masterpiece.

Sections of the tour include a moderate hike. Children must be over five years of age to attend a tour of MANITOGA, due to the steep nature of the property’s terrain. Face masks are required in indoor spaces. Dogs and pets are not allowed, except for ADA title III service animals.  Advanced reservations are required to visit and can be made online at visitmanitoga.org/design-art-nature-tours.
