Your heart will melt on Thursday, when the Ulster County SPCA delivers its too-cute puppygrams to the Hudson Valley community. Treat your special someone to the updated twist on a holiday telegram, which features adorable shelter dogs delivering backpacks of candy, cards, and stuffed animal dogs to lucky recipients. Puppygrams cost $50 each, and all proceeds go directly to the SPCA.

21st Annual Fishkill Polar Plunge

Sharpe Reservation, Fishkill​
February 16, 8:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Freeze for a heartwarming reason at the 2019 Fishkill Polar Plunge on Saturday. Now in its 21st year, the frosty event benefits Special Olympics New York. Interested plungers must register in advance and sign a waiver, so plan accordingly if you want to participate. Due to an increase in attendees over the past few years, there are now two plunge times at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Pancake Brunch

Stony Kill Farm, Wappingers Falls
February 16, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Kick off the start of maple syrup season in the Hudson Valley at Stony Kill’s celebratory pancake brunch. Swing by the farm on Saturday for treats like pumpkin pancakes, venison sausage, coffee, orange juice, and more. Tickets run $10/adults, $5/children, and free for children 3 and under.

On Sunday, step into Albany’s Palace Theatre for a step show that honors Black History Month in the Hudson Valley. Top local step teams congregate for a high energy evening unlike anything you’ve seen before. Tickets run $25 for adults and $20 for students.
