A “wild” dinner experience is coming to the Hudson Valley this summer. Along the same vein as the cult foodie trend diner en blanc, “Into The Wild” urges diners to leave society behind in favor of a meal in the great outdoors. More than a picnic, the event unites mystery and tradition to create an unforgettable meal.
The “Into The Wild” dinner, which is a collaboration between event firm Magdalena Events and wedding caterer Heirloom Fire, lures guests to Gather Greene in Coxackie on July 28. Location influences the cuisine, which the event planners describe as “woodland inspired fare.” Although the menu itself is shrouded in secrecy, think of it as next level farm-to-table eats, with freshly harvested produce and roasted game.
“Imagine a post-fox hunt supper; the English countryside with a healthy dose of rugged wilderness,” explains Magdalena Mieczkowska, of Magdalena Events.
As the fourth annual dinner in the experiential series, “Into The Wild” showcases the hard work of local farmers and aims to spread the word about sustainability. The meal, which will consist of four surprise courses, kicks off with a cocktail hour that leads guests on an interactive scavenger hunt on their way to the dining table.

The event promises to be unlike anything attendees have ever experienced. The meal seats 100 to 150 diners and is sponsored by Stetson USA. Although the food is not vegan or vegetarian, accommodations can be made for individuals with gluten allergies.
