Since 1983, the Cary Institute of Ecoystem Studies has been a leading independent environmental research organization devoted to such topics as climate change and urban ecology. Through its Eco-Discovery camp, kids closely observe ecosystems and conduct scientific investigations. Alternatively, the new Art + Science session explores the dynamic relationship between the two disciplines.
Schedule: Mon.-Fri., June-August
Session length: One week per session (June 27-August 26 for Eco-Discovery; July 25-August 5 for Art + Science)

Hands-on science programs are the draw of this camp, which has myriad locations across the Hudson Valley. This year kids can build rockets, learn chemistry lab techniques, and construct projects with LEGO bricks.
