Natural, Romantic, LUSH, Lots of Greenery “The current bouquet trend is toward a very loose, flowy, ethereal style,” says David Recine of Flowers By David Anthony in Highland Mills. “Brides are choosing larger- blossom flowers with more greenery and unusual foliage, giving the bouquets a more romantic feel.” Round, compact nosegays are out, and neutral, blush palettes are popular. Ceremony flowers, Recine says, “are trending toward very dramatic arches and four-post trellises with a natural, organic composition of branches, foliage, and berries.” Crystals are popular, too, “accented with hanging or draped floral garlands.” Flower walls at the ceremony or as head-table backdrops are still in and “can include anything from rustic greenery to roses, hydrangea, and orchids.” Sam Manessis, vice president of Arcadia Floral in Mamaroneck, is seeing lots of whites and creams in bridal bouquets, as well as “fuller, more lush centerpieces,” while Katie Pinto of The Ritz-Carlton, Westchester, says she’s seeing soft colors and “a lot of garden-inspired floral arrangements and organic-looking bouquets.”
