Since its opening a decade ago, FINCH hudson has dominated the retail scene in Hudson with expertly curated furniture, art, menswear, and internationally sourced antiques. Helmed by Andrew Arrick—formerly a “driving force” for design houses like Yves Saint Laurent, Celine, and Vera Wang—with his husband, Michael Hofemann, the handsome storefront at 427 Warren Street is a testament to their voguish collaboration of taste in vintage and modern goods.
In alignment with FINCH’s decennial anniversary, Arrick and Hofemann expanded the store by launching several new shopping sections. The addition of these new wares, which complement the store’s established stock, advances their endeavor to offer “a more immersive approach to retail” in the riverside city. “Our main focus continues to be furniture. However, we’ve been adding more lifestyle categories to our mix over the past few years, starting with men’s apparel and accessories, which then led to bath and body, fragrance, and—most recently—women’s apparel, pillows, and bedding,” explains Arrick, adding that FINCH will also revitalize its online shopping experience. “We’ve always envisioned creating a lifestyle experience…for the home, body, and soul,” he continues. “Our new location represents the culmination of our vision.”
The FINCH operation remains within the 10,000-sq-ft brick building (formerly a police precinct) that it has occupied since its relocation in 2021, but with the addition of a 2,500-sq-ft second floor to house the new commodities. Arrick and Hofemann will maintain the broad scope of their offerings, having sold anything from a 1780s Danish oakwood chest to creations by contemporary designers in the Hudson Valley. “Hudson is home to so many creative people in art, music, food, and design,” says Hofemann. “We knew there was an appetite for a richer retail experience and for something more immersive, modern, sexy, and fun.”
