American Roots Festival

Caramoor, Katonah
June 23, 11 a.m.

Set on the grounds of the scenic Caramoor estate in Katonah, the American Roots Festival spotlights the best of classic Americana tunes. On Saturday, folk performers like The Alexis P. Suter Band, Night Tree, and Ali Dineen strum their stuff during the day. At night, famed singer-songwriter Aimee Mann headlines the evening show, accompanied by rising talent Valerie June. Bring a blanket to watch the shows and grab snacks from the onsite food trucks and tents.

Rhinebeck Crafts Festival

Dutchess County Fairgrounds, Rhinebeck
June 23-24, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Held over the course of the weekend, the Rhinebeck Crafts Festival unites 200 artisans from across the nation to showcase their one-of-a-kind wares. There’s something for everyone at this expansive fest. Shop contemporary art, homemade knickknacks, and gourmet treats in one place, then check out interactive craft demonstrations like wheel-thrown pottery and canoe building.

 

Hudson Valley Celtic Festival

Hudson Valley Sportsdome, Milton
June 23, 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.

If you’re looking for something really different to do this weekend, swing by the Hudson Valley Celtic Festival on Saturday. Attendees can witness the ceremony of the Pipe Band Competition, which includes both solo performances and mass band marches. Later in the afternoon, the Fishkill Fencing Club will host a tournament. As for what to eat and drink, traditional vendors will be on location to serve hungry visitors.

 

Ghost Stories in the Basement

The Beekman Arms, Rhinebeck
Friday, June 22, 7-8:30 p.m.

Do you love things that go bump at the night? Can’t get enough of scary movies? This chills and thrills event at The Beekman Arms is for you. Attendees have the unique opportunity to enter the depths of the 18th century inn’s basement and listen to the spooky tales of the people (and non-living folk) who have made their mark on the locale over its 250-year history.
