A Night Out in November
Orchard Hill Cider Mill, Soons Orchard, New Hampton
November 16, 5-9 p.m.
On Friday evening, Orchard Hill Cider Mill in Orange County hosts a Night Out event to support the Middletown NY Humane Society. Guests can listen to live music and sample small plates and cocktails throughout the evening. Visual artist April Vidal and local author Alan Joseph will be onsite for the festivities as well. There’s no cover charge, but all guests must commit to two drinks (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) at a minimum.
Wreath Fineries at the Wineries
Shawangunk Wine Trail
November 17-18
This weekend marks the first of the Shawankgunk Wine Trail’s three weekends dedicated to seasonal sipping in the Hudson Valley. Guests who purchase a ticket can check in at a starting winery, where they will receive a souvenir glass, a grapevine wreath, a thematic ornament, and a tasting. Afterward, they can continue to the remaining wineries on the trail, where they can “collect” wine tastings and an ornament at each stop. Ugly sweaters are optional, but highly recommended.
Hudson Valley Hullabaloo

Kingston’s hippest craft fair returns to Ulster County this weekend for a holiday shopping event. Just in time for seasonal gifting, the market brings together around 75 artists and makers for a fun-filled two days. Browse treats like caramel sauce from The Ardent Homesteader, bourbon whiskey from Hillrock, and eye-catching earrings from Mary Risley Jewelry. As you wander from booth to booth, take a detour to Samosa Shack or Wildfire Food Truck for savory lunchtime goodies.
Hudson Valley Wine and Chocolate Festival
Patterson Recreation Center, Patterson
November 17-18, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Kickstart the holiday eating season in Patterson at the region’s seventh annual wine and chocolate festival. More than 85 vendors will be onsite for sampling and savoring of vino and cocoa treats, along with seasonal specials like honey, olive oil, and hot sauce. All attendees receive a wine glass and lanyard for tastings. For designated drivers, reduced admission tickets are available.
Holiday Makers Market
Arlene’s Artist Materials, Albany
November 17, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Anyone in the Albany area on Saturday should stop by Arlene’s for the first makers market of the season. During the event, a handful of craftspeople from the Capital Region set up temporary shop to showcase their handcrafted works. Visitors can admire the pottery, yarns, jewelry, paintings, and more throughout the afternoon, then pick up a few one-of-a-kind gifts to go.
