Albany: Jeff and Cathy Clark’s light display at their home (56 Jefferson Road in Glenmont), has been attracting attention — from neighbors and news stations alike — since 1993. See it Thanksgiving through Jan 3.

Columbia: The Village of Valatie celebrates on Dec. 10 with a Winter Parade at 5 p.m. The WinterWalk follows from 6 to 9 p.m. along Main Street. www.veravalatie.com/Winter_Walk.html

Dutchess: Grace and Timothy Gay earned a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records with their 600,000-light extravaganza at 8 Patrick Drive in Lagrangeville, which has raised $222,740 for local causes. Nov. 25 – Dec. 28. www.ERDAJT.com

Greene: The Athens Annual Victorian Stroll begins at 1 p.m. on Dec. 10 at the Athens Cultural Center. The day concludes with a bonfire, caroling, and tree lighting in Riverfront Park at 5 p.m. www.athensculturalcenter.org

Orange:  Talking egg, Eggbert, returns to Devitt’s Nursery & Supply in New Windsor. Live animals and colorful displays line the trail that leads there, and kids can ride on Devitt’s Eggspress Train. Tickets, $8 (3 and under are free). Through Dec. 24. Devitt’s: 845.561.1968

Putnam: Holiday on the Lake 22nd Annual Parade and Tree Lighting, Carmel, Dec. 3. Festivities begin at 4 p.m. and conclude with a 40-float Parade of Lights at 6:30 p.m. and the lighting of 75 Christmas trees on the shores of Lake Gleneida at 7:45 p.m. www.carmelcivicassoc.org
