Update (8/11/15, 10 a.m.): According to a statement released by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, there’s a “strong possibility” that a body pulled from the Hudson River on Monday is that of the missing kayaker. An autopsy is scheduled to be conducted Tuesday.

On Saturday, August 9, 2015, the daughter of Grammy Award-winning singer Annie Lennox, model/painter Tali Lennox Fruchtmann, 22, and her longtime boyfriend Ian Jones, 32, capsized in a tandem kayak in the Hudson River near the Staatsburgh State Historic Site. Lennox was rescued by a passing boat, but as of Monday, August 10, Jones was still reported missing.

Alcohol could have played a role in the capsizing, says Captain John Watterson of the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.

Officials began searching for Jones around 9:50 a.m. on Saturday and continued the search throughout Sunday. It was reported that neither Fruchtmann nor Jones wore life vests at the time of the incident. No crime or foul play is suspected.

Jones is Caucasian, 6-foot-3, with dark hair and a slim build. He was wearing a denim shirt and jeans at the time of the accident. Please contact the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Department at 845-486-3800, 845-605-CLUE (2583), or dcsotips@gmail.com if any information is known.
