Women’s Storytelling Project

Rockland Center for the Arts, West Nyack​

For one special evening, storyteller Katie Elevitch introduces the techniques of storytelling in a special workshop-style event at Rockland Center for the Arts. Focusing on creativity and therapy, Elevitch uses the Women’s Storytelling Project as a way to build and inspire an empowered community that extends throughout and beyond the Hudson Valley.


The Art of Pysanky: Ukrainian Easter Eggs

Arts Mid-Hudson, Poughkeepsie
March 23, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Easter may still be a month away, but you can celebrate the fest early at Arts Mid-Hudson this week. During a special Saturday workshop, the Poughkeepsie center teaches visitors about Pysanky, or Ukrainian Easter eggs. In addition to delving into the history and customs of the decorated egg tradition, Arts Mid-Hudson instructs students on how to create their own beautiful, intricately detailed eggs to take home.



Easter Bunny Arrival and Annual Egg Hunt

Colonie Center, Albany
March 23, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

The Easter Bunny hops into Albany this Saturday to bring all his most colorful eggs in a kid-friendly scavenger hunt. Pack your baskets to find the pastel-hued treats, then stick around for face painting, a balloon artist, and more. Afterward, help the little ones walk off their energy with a loop around Colonie Center.


Barrel Tasting & Cellar Tour

Robibero Winery, New Paltz​
March 23, 12:30-1:30 p.m.

If you’ve ever dreamed of one day owning your own vineyard (let’s be honest, who hasn’t?), you’ll be in seventh heaven at Robibero’s barrel tasting and tour. As the winery’s winemaker shows you through the cellar, you’ll be able to sample the 2018 vintages directly from the barrels and tanks as you go. Once you’re done, don’t pass up a stroll through the winery proper to sip the wines that are bottled and fully matured.



Emo Skate Night

Hyde Park Roller Magic, Hyde Park
March 23, 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Get ready for an epic blast to the past at Hyde Park Roller Magic’s Emo Skate Night. The $12 admission price includes a skate rental, so no worries if you don’t have roller skates of your own. As for attire, channel the fashions of your angsty days and throw on your acid-wash skinny jeans, a tattered band tee, and a hefty dose of black eyeliner. Then get ready to move and groove to Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Panic! at the Disco, and pretty much every other band that defined your emo years.

Nine Pin Cider, Albany
March 24, 12-3 p.m.

Calling all cider lovers! This weekend, Hudson Valley favorite Nine Pin Cider hosts its signature candle-making event onsite. For $15, attendees can learn how to construct their own stack candle to take home. Throughout the event, happy hour pricing makes Nine Pin’s signature sips even more delicious.


Colonial Maple Sugaring

Brinckerhoff House Historic Site, Hopewell Junction
March 24, 1-3 p.m.

Celebrate the arrival of maple season in the Hudson Valley with a fun-for-all day at Brinckerhoff House in Hopewell Junction. During the sugaring event, kids and adults can collect maple sap as they learn how syrup was produced during the colonial era. After collecting the bounty from the trees, visitors can sample prepared syrups and nosh on treats made from varieties of syrup that were prepared and produced onsite.
