So, if nostalgia comes knockin’ on your door this weekend, stop by the Warwick Valley Winery and Distillery, which will be hosting its 20th annual Bob Dylan Tribute festival from May 28-30. An eclectic collection of performers will be playing covers of songs by Dylan and his closely associated peers from noon-5 pm each day, even if a hard rain’s a-gonna fall (so you might want to pack a poncho).
This weekend’s lineup looks to reflect the diversity of its muse’s music; you can catch rock band Hollis Brown on Sunday (whose namesake is a tribute to Dylan’s “The Ballad of Hollis Brown”); husband-and-wife duo The Kennedys on both Saturday and Sunday; and Grateful Dead tribute band Dead on the Tracks on Monday. Finishing off the weekend’s performances will be Grammy-nominated guitarist and Telecaster legend Bill Kirchen.
Of course, no music fest would be complete without a few drinks, and the winery isn’t coming up short. There will be wine tastings, hard cider available, and the winery’s grill, bakery, and café will be open. Outside food and drinks aren’t allowed, so you’ll have to indulge in their on-location fare. Tickets are $10 online, or $15 at the door.
