This march was one of several in Beacon. It was organized by Ciarda Hall, Stefon Seward and Xavier Mayo, who later formed the group Beacon 4 Black Lives, with several others.

More than 1,500 people participated in the “Walk 4 Black Lives” march which began with speeches by several leaders from the community.

June 2, Poughkeepsie

The “We Can’t Breathe” march stepped off from Harriet Tubman Park and made its way across the Mid-Hudson Bridge to raise awareness in the Hudson Valley.

 

June 19, Croton-on-Hudson

The newly formed Black Student Activists of Croton — founded by four high school students including  Khadia Abam-DePass (left) and Paige Jones (speaking) — held a peaceful protest which included a speech from Mondaire Jones, who won the Democratic primary for  New York’s 17th Congressional District a few days later.

The “Say Their Names” march and rally began at the Calvary Baptist Church and ended in front of the Martin Luther King Jr. statue at the Westchester County Courthouse. The event was supported by local religious and civic leaders.
