Darkside Records hosts Record Store Day Black Friday with 1,000 used records hitting the shelves. It’s an in-person experience only, so browse the list beforehand to see if there’s anything that catches your eye. If the records alone don’t sell you, Darkside will also be raffling off an indie exclusive autographed copy of Neil Young & Crazy Horse’s newest record, with all proceeds going to the Dutchess County SPCA. And did we mention The Poughkeepsie Grind will be pouring free coffee?

Do yourself a favor and save big on an Epic Pass to Hunter Mountain this Black Friday weekend. The last chance for a pass is December 4, and lift tickets will be limited, so the mountain recommends buying lift tickets and passes in advance.

Spike’s Record Rack in Catskill participates in Record Store Day on Black Friday. Get there at 10 a.m. to browse limited-edition RSD releases. The store stays open until 8 p.m. that day and is posting Instagram videos with snippets of titles that will be in stock. There are no holds, so you have to be there to score the vinyl you crave.


Orange County

Woodbury Common may just be the most popular spot in the Hudson Valley on Black Friday, and for good reason. After all, where else can you find dozens upon dozens of designer retailers stocked to the brim with discounts galore in one place? Score 40-70 percent off the entire store at Tommy Hilfiger (and head to the outlet’s website to save a coupon to get an additional 25 percent off your purchase of $150 or more or 15 percent off your entire purchase from November 21-30). Michael Kors will be offering an extra 20% off purchases made between now and November 30 as well.


Putnam County

Pop into the Garrison Art Center over Black Friday weekend to shop the Holiday Pottery Show and Sale. The event runs through November 27 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, so stop by to shop the one-of-a-kind items from talented vendors. The show is closed on Thanksgiving.

Peruse the 200-plus brands scattered across the four-level shopping center in Rockland County in search of the perfect gifts for family and friends. Ulster County

Craving an escape? For its biggest sale of the year, Mohonk Mountain House offers 40 percent off of midweek escapes and 25 percent off of weekend getaways on select dates. There’s a two-night minimum for both options, and the dates of the special are from November 20, 2022 to April 29, 2023. The cyber sale ends on December 2 at 5 p.m., so make a move if you want to make the most of this deal.
