Vivace at Stringendo Orchestra School

We aren’t the only ones who feel that Vivace, a group of young string musicians at Stringendo Orchestra School, is the best: In May, the ensemble was named Grand Champion at the American String Teachers Association’s National Orchestra Festival in Louisville, Kentucky, beating out about 20 other groups from throughout the U.S. (Chaconne, Stringendo’s junior orchestra, took home second prize.)
Among the pieces Vivace performed was David Diamond’s Rounds, which the composer finished writing in Rhinebeck in 1944. Bravo! 845-264-1206; www.stringendomusic.org
