A Behind-the-Scenes Look at Fashion Week in NYC

Share

I can’t even begin to tell you how much I appreciated these photos by the amazing Kris Atomic. Fashion Week isn’t all dreamy photos with perfect light and candid shots (even if that’s how the internet portrays it on blogs). Remember last week when I mentioned that there’s a lot of pressure during fashion week to “dress up” for the camera? Over the past few years, street style blogs have become incredibly popular. Fashion Week was once a very private, elite event; hovever, because of bloggers and social media, everyone is able to see what goes on inside (and outside) the tents.

You want to look your best at fashion week, but if you want your 15 seconds of internet fame, you should plan on really standing out (or being Anna Wintour).

Photographers can make several hundred dollars just by selling a magazine one great street style shot, so the competition is fierce. Often, Fashion Week is a madhouse of photographers running around shooting the over-styled fashion elite. I’m so glad that Kris chose to humorously show you what’s really going on behind the shot.
