When it comes to antiquing, the Hudson Valley is a bit like Mary Poppins’ carpet bag. Pop in one store and you’ll walk away with everything from cast iron pans and coffee pots to Shaker chairs and vintage tablecloths. Go to another and you just may find the perfect dining room table, bed frame, or record player to color your abode. Regardless of which thingamabobs and whatchamacallits call to you, you’ll find them all, and then some, at the region’s abundance of antique shops.
Get ready to grab a tote, clear out your car (trust us, you’ll need the space), and embark on an antiquing adventure.

It’s hard to describe Red Chair on Warren as an antique store. Yes, it technically is an antique store, thanks to its exquisite collection of 17th-, 18th-, and 19th-century collectibles. One step into the Warren Street shop, however, and you’ll think you wandered straight into a home editorial photoshoot. With treasures that play into the gray, blue, and white palettes, the shop is centered around Swedish, Belgian, and French antiques, and owner Jocie Sinauer frequently makes trips to France to hand-select items for the shop. Even if you’re not in the market for antiques at the moment, Red Chair the shop is a must-visit for interior inspiration alone.

Outdated Lite: 26 Downs St., Midtown Kingston
In a sea of Hudson Valley antique stores, Outdated is unique. Let’s start with the fact that it’s actually a café that serves up scrumptious brunch-style treats and healthy drinks. Yet it’s also not so secretly a vintage shop. That retro school desk you’re sitting at, for instance? It’s probably for sale. Additionally, Outdated offers catering for its homemade desserts and accepts orders for wedding cakes. It doesn’t get much more versatile than that.
