In a town famed for world-class skiing and towering mountain views, Amangani provides a tranquil home base. Perched on a butte overlooking Jackson Hole, Amangani offers relaxation when you’re not on the slopes or adventuring through nearby Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Park.

Just a 10-minute drive from Jackson, Amangani is one of only two US properties from the ultra-luxe Aman group. Suites and homes, each with vast picture windows and private terraces, promise staggering views of the snow-capped Grand Tetons. (Seriously, even the toilets and showers offer breathtaking views.) If you can tear yourself away from the lobby’s two-story wall of windows, there’s relaxation to be found in the spectacular spa and locally sourced farm-to-table cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the onsite grill.
Soak in the heated infinity pool that’s open year-round with (what else?) Teton views, and it can be hard to convince yourself to step outside Amangani’s luxurious confines. But you should. Amangani offers a wide range of adventures: Snowmobile through Yellowstone National Park; white-knuckle on a private-plane ride over the Tetons; or ski Jackson Hole’s famous trails.
For skiers, the resort offers a free shuttle service to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and a private lounge once you get there. The mountain’s steep, powdery slopes are considered some of the most challenging in the country, but don’t let that scare you off: More than half the resort’s trails are beginner or intermediate. Private lessons are a great way to explore the mountain’s 2,500 acres of inbound terrain (and tune up rusty skills). End your day with a ride on the tram to the peak and snack on warm waffles at Corbet’s Cabin. Elevation: 10,450 feet.
Must Do
Book an Amangani signature wildlife tour. Spend a full or half-day exploring the valley by BMW with Jared Paul, who has spent nearly two decades studying the region. On a late-winter tour, expect spotted elk, coyotes, bald eagles, moose, and bighorn sheep.
