Update (8/19/15): Chelsea O’Donnell, teenage daughter of comedienne Rosie O’Donnell, has been found safe at a private residence in New Jersey on Tuesday, August 18 — one week after she reportedly ran away from her home in South Nyack, according to a spokesperson for the family. Her absence drew immediate concern because, according to a statement on O’Donnell’s website, she had discontinued her medication for an undisclosed mental illness and “is in need of medical attention.”
Chelsea O’Donnell, daughter of comedian Rosie O’Donnell, has not been seen since she left home with her therapy dog last Tuesday, August 11.
Nyack authorities have been searching for Chelsea in the Rockland area since Sunday, according to a message posted this morning on the official Rosie O’Donnell website. Chelsea “stopped taking her medicine and is in need of medical attention,” the post said. The post also reports that she was last seen wearing a black hoodie, dark ripped blue jeans, grey converse sneakers, and a black backpack. She has a large tattoo of a dream-catcher on her right side with the word “Breathe.”
Rosie O’Donnell has been in the news recently after making a swift Twitter response to Donald Trump’s nod at their shared rivalry during the first Republican debate. Moderator Megyn Kelly asked him about his choice of language when referring to women as “fat pigs,” “disgusting animals,” and “slobs,” to which Trump replied, “Only Rosie O’Donnell.” O’Donnell tweeted later that evening, “try explaining that 2 ur kids.”
“Chelsea, like millions of people, lives with mental illness,” O’Donnell’s representative said in a statement to Mashable. “It has been a difficult road for Chelsea and her family and they just want her back safe.”
