For one week only, the sassy, classy matchmaking musical Hello Dolly! comes to the Nelly Goletti Theatre at Marist College. The beloved show follows the tale of Dolly Levi, a socialite matchmaker in New York City, as she tries to help her client fall in love. Performed by the Marist Theatre Program, the spectacle shows six times during the week, so pick up tickets, with run $12 for the general public and $6 for students, seniors, and military, if you want to see the rom-com drama before it skips town.

Women’s History Month Kingston Launch Party

The Art of Emily Cole

Thomas Cole National Historic Site, Catskill

Just in time for the start of Women’s History Month, the Thomas Cole National Historic Site opens an exhibition dedicated to the painted botanicals of Emily Cole, the daughter of famed Hudson Valley landscape painter Thomas Cole. Set for presentation in the 1815 Main House, the showing marks the first solo exhibition for Emily in over a century. If you’ve never been to the Thomas Cole National Historic Site before, this is the perfect excuse to plan a visit.

Catskills Snowshoe Festival

Bearpen Mountain, Prattsville​
March 2-3, 10 a.m.

For a winter racing event like no other, head to Bearpen Mountain on Saturday morning to walk, jog, or run your way through the 5k or 10k snowshoe course. All participants who register will receive a gift and celebratory t-shirt to mark the occasion. At noon on Saturday, the competition will wrap up so that attendees can head to nearby West Kill Brewing for a brew or two.

 

10th Annual Mac-n-Cheese Bowl

Siena College, Albany
March 2, 11 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Eat up for a good cause at the 10th annual Mac-n-Cheese Bowl, which benefits the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York. Attendees can sample the cheesy wares from dozens of vendors, including Longfellows, Gourmeli’s Taste, and Indian Ladder Farms. For an additional $10, interested attendees can also opt in for 10 samples from local breweries and cideries, such as Brown’s and Druthers Brewing. Ticket run $20 for general admission and $5 for children ages 5-12.

 

Wine & Chocolate Festival

The Desmond Hotel, Albany
March 2, 1-4 p.m. and 5-8 p.m.

Valentine’s Day may be over, but everyone’s favorite romantic food pairing lives on this weekend at Albany’s Wine & Chocolate Festival. Located inside The Desmond Hotel, the fest brings together more than a dozen wineries and distilleries, along with an extensive rundown of food and shopping vendors. Whether you crave Nothing Bundt Cakes or Spacey Tracy’s Pickles to go with your vino, you’ll love eating and sipping your way through the afternoon.

 

 

Vassar Repertory Dance Theatre

Bardavon 1869 Opera House, Poughkeepsie
March 2, 8 p.m.

Celebrate the first few days of March by getting out of the house and over to the historic Bardavon Opera House. For one night only, Vassar’s talented repertory dance crew takes the stage to perform a breathtaking medley of choreographed dances that range from ballet to contemporary to jazz and everything in between. Tickets cost $11 and can be purchased online or at Vassar College’s College Center.
