Cajun Dance With The Bunkhouse Boys

Get moving this January with a Hudson Valley community dance in Kingston. On Friday, locals are welcome to groove to the tunes of The Bunkhouse Boys, a Creole and Cajun-influenced band. Beginners can take lessons at 7 p.m., no partner necessary. Then, from 8-11 p.m. everyone can hit the floor for a night of dancing. P.S. Women’s Empowerment Conference

This Saturday, Albany hosts a women’s empowerment conference that brings together leading ladies from throughout the Hudson Valley and beyond. Speakers include Christine Ahn, the international coordinator of Women Cross DMZ, and Lacey Schwartz, the director, producer, and co-author of Little White Lie. With highlights that include a chili contest, roasted chestnuts, toasted marshmallows, wagon rides, and wood-carving demonstrations, the fest is just the thing to get the whole family up and moving this weekend.

‘Tis the season for Hudson Valley wedding planning! Keep the pre-ceremony festivities going with an afternoon at the Villa Borghese to check out all things marriage in the Hudson Valley. Attendees can chat with wedding professionals, peek at the latest bridal fashions and designs, enter a honeymoon giveaway, and sip hot chocolate at the hot cocoa bar. Admission is $5 per person and free for couples booked at Villa Borghese.
