Take a trip to Arts Mid-Hudson on Saturday for a community celebration of Kakizome, the Japanese tradition that marks the first calligraphy writing of the new year. Attendees can learn about the historic practice, which highlights hopes and goals for the next 12 months, then test out their own calligraphy skills to ensure a healthy, prosperous 2019.

 

New Year Swing Dance

Step into 2019 in style at Got2Lindy Dance Studios’ rocking new year dance. Open to the public, the swing event features an 18-piece band that delivers live music and foot-tapping tunes.
