An unsightly layer of snow and salt may cover the ground right now, but spring will be here before you know it. In the meantime, here are some pieces to throw in your shopping cart as you dream of the warmer days ahead.
1. A Bomber Jacket
Although bomber jackets have faded in and out of style since they first became popular in 1950s, their return to the fashion world this spring is stronger than ever. Their structured, athletic shape creates the perfect cool kid vibe that looks just as good on guys as it does on girls. Pair them with anything from ripped jeans and a loose tee to a fitted miniskirt and a printed top for an outfit that is sure to impress.

2. Poppy Red Lipstick
With higher temperatures right around the corner, it’s time to brighten up your makeup game. Ditch the cool-toned red lipstick in favor of a warmer, slightly orange-tinted red. This shade was an awards show favorite, with everyone from Victoria’s Secret supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio to actress Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl) taking it for a test drive. The best part is that you can find some version of this color in the drugstore or the department store, and it’s sure to look fabulous either way.

3. Platform Heels
You can lose the stilettos — platforms are back. They’ve been inching their way (pun intended) into the fashion mainstream for the past few seasons, most notably with the flatform craze during the summer of 2012. This spring, platform heels will be all the rage. Not only are they comfier than your standard heel, but they also look wonderful with A-line dresses and wide-leg pants. Wear them to family brunch or a get-together with friends for a look that is both trendy and elegant.
