12 Hudson Valley Ties Among the World's Richest People

Forbes’ 31st list of the planet’s wealthiest elites boasts a few names associated with our region

While some of us feel a rush of excitement finding a quarter underneath our couch cushions, there are a few Hudson Valley locals (both former and current) that can be found on Forbes’ latest list of the world’s richest people.

The list, Forbes’ 31st iteration released Monday, contains 2,043 of the richest people on the planet, up 13 percent from last year’s 1,810. The list’s total net worth rose by 18 percent to $7.67 trillion, which, unfortunately, was probably not the result of an extremely fortuitous couch search.

Check out the list below of your 12 fellow Hudson Valley-related elites topping Forbes’ covetous chart.
