An exciting new project is in the works in Goshen, with an estimated completion date of Fall 2021. Led by award winning Hudson Valley Developer Fareri Associates, LP, an extensive overhaul is being planned for Goshen Plaza, including a total tear down and repaving for the 13-acre shopping center deemed substandard for close to 15 years. Fareri Associates have enlisted Pyramid Brokerage Company to locate new tenants for the plaza, which will fill 49,900 square feet of retail space between Clowes Street and Matthews Street.
The project was proposed to the Village of Goshen Planning Board on January 22. Currently, two major retailers are in talks with the development team, including a supermarket, to open in 2021, and CVS Pharmacy with drive-thru service, to open in 2020. Moreover, the parking lot, which will be regraded and resurfaced, with new lighting, striping and signage, is being maintained by Fareri Associates until the approval process is complete.
Under Fareri Associates’ plan, the final product will include three move-in ready buildings and three fully-equipped pad sites, and should create an estimated 238 jobs (up from the current 47). Also, there will be a new stormwater collection system and modern utilities.
Joining the project is Pyramid Brokerage Company agent John Coladonato, who brings an extensive knowledge of the field. Coladonato has been working with Cushman & Wakefield since 2009, honing in on retail leasing.
Regarding the project, he added in a press release, “I’ve been in commercial real estate in Orange County for most of my career, and I have heard people in this village asking for a project just like this one for decades. There’s no better team to get this done than the community-minded people at Fareri, and I’m glad to be part of the process.”
