Silo Ridge Field Club hides 800 acres of private, luxury living in Dutchess County, with everything from a golf course to culinary delights.
Imagine the escape of your dreams. Other than its sites in Westhampton Beach and Southampton, Discovery’s communities tend to take root near the water in vacation-friendly destinations like California, Hawaii, and Mexico.
Inside the pearly gates at the Silo Ridge location, community members step foot into a world of possibilities. With 245 residences ranging from homes to condominiums to townhouses, plus an 18-hole golf course, a number of communal spaces, and sports and wellness programming, Silo Ridge quite literally has something for everyone. Perhaps that is why the locale attracts the likes of residents like Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen, residents who crave luxury amenities and picture-perfect living away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
The perks of living at Silo Ridge are twofold. First, there’s the exclusive residential options, options which vary to suit a medley of aesthetics, families, and price points. Prospective members can choose from not one, but five home locations on the grounds. The spaces vary from one-bedroom suites at The Green and Hudson Valley-esque five-bedroom homes at the Village Green to single-family homes at the Lakeside, three-bedroom abodes at the Club Meadow, and custom Estate Homesites that nestle against a private 220-acre land preserve.

In fact, such activities are a large part of the appeal of parent organization Discovery Land Company, which operates its very own recreation program, Outdoor Pursuits, to arrange and cater activities to residents’ interests. At the Hudson Valley location, the Outdoor Pursuits options are very nearly limitless. With activities like hunting, biking, paddle boarding, camping, ziplining, skiing and snowboarding, fly fishing, horseback riding, kayaking, and archery available on or near the grounds, boredom is nigh unto impossible for homeowners and their families.
On the grounds, a golf course, spa and fitness center, pool club, garden, practice range, movie theater, climbing wall, and numerous pools and ponds are only a few of the attractions for club goers. In each setting, residents can bond with fellow community members over shared interests and group activities centered around sports and hobbies. No matter where you go at Silo Ridge, however, farm-to-table living remains paramount. Orchards and farmers markets abound nearby in Dutchess County, while an onsite organic garden and kitchen program led by Chef Jonathan Wright, VP Culinary Operations East Coast & Caribbean Discovery Land Company, keep locals eating happy. Dubbed “terrain-to-table,” the cuisine at Silo Ridge House, the onsite restaurant, offers a little something for everyone, with an overall emphasis on fresh, local ingredients.
“In my profession as a chef, I like having the ability to influence the ingredients that I use,” explains Wright. “I value a close relationship with the farmers who grow and rear my ingredients, and this is easier to cultivate when you’re actually cooking near the farms that are your sources.”
At the Ridge, Wright works with Executive Chef Robert Hohmann to personalize each and every ingredient that residents sample. From homemade sourdough and herb-infused honey, jams, and vinegars to homegrown organic produce, the culinary duo prioritize a healthful, local approach to their culinary program as a whole. At the Ridge House Restaurant, Silo Ridge’s onsite eatery, diners can savor curated, thoughtful meals like a 72-hour braised short rib with bone marrow and horseradish, spring risotto with nettles and fiddlehead ferns, and smoky ham hock ravioli with sun choke velouté and parsley oil.
Further afield, a juice bar offers fresh sips for guests, while two comfort stations near the golf course are a must-visit for charcuterie and a made-to-order grill that churns out everything from ribs to Angus burgers. Menus walk the line between simple and decadent, offering diners the most flavor with the cleanest preparation, and ultimately deliver a true Hudson Valley dining experience.
All in all, while Silo Ridge may function as a vacation destination for the well-to-do who crave a bit of quiet, it’s easy to envision the community’s potential for family-based living year-round.
