Eastdale Village is nothing if not history-making. Boasting the largest construction project in Poughkeepsie in more than 30 years and the first pre-planned living community in Dutchess County, the project continues to impress with a flurry of business announcements.
One such announcement was that Rosticceria Rossi & Sons’ deli, a Hudson Valley staple since 1979, is opening a location there in the fall of 2020. With the exception of their station at Marist College, this will be the first time Rosticceria Rossi & Sons’ has opened a second brick-and-mortar location.
Other highly anticipated openings include: the first brick-and-mortar location of Amanda’s Macaron Shoppe (spring), famous for their gluten-free Italian rainbow cookie macarons; a relocation for Best of Hudson Valley-winning Sweetbakes Café (fall); and Ye Olde Candle House Gift Shoppe (spring). Premier Medical Group’s new 27,000-square-foot urology center opened in January.
Along with multiple eateries and retail businesses, Kirchhoff Companies is constructing over 400 rental residential units ranging from studios to one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments. Various residential options will include traditional center-corridor apartments, single level and two-story townhome spaces, and live/work buildings. The second stage of openings (including the stacked-townhomes) is scheduled for April 1 with more units available in early May.
The 60-plus-acre development plans to satisfy nature-lovers too, with 25 acres dedicated to parkland and walking trails directly connected to Eastdale Village’s sidewalk system.
