New Housing Opportunities Open in Poughkeepsie

Both high-end and affordable units suit today’s live, work, and play needs.

Poughkeepsie’s two newest apartment complexes are up and running and ready for occupants.

Next to the ever-popular Walkway-Over-the-Hudson rise three elegant buildings of the One Dutchess apartment complex. At this prime waterfront property within walking distance to the Metro-North train station, residents have their pick of one-, two-, or three-bedroom luxury units — featuring quartz stone countertops, nine-foot ceilings, and walk-in closets.

One Dutchess is pet-friendly and amenities include a heated swimming pool, rooftop terrace, a spa, sauna, and more.

Rent runs between $1,525 and $2,900 per month. At press time, the second of three buildings was scheduled to open in August, and the third in September.

One Dutchess is Phase I of a three-part development. Phases II and III of construction will see the opening of more units, along with luxury amenities and commercial/retail space.

The nearby Maple Street Apartments present another housing opportunity. These polished, minimalist units are more economical than those of One Dutchess, with some meeting the requirements for HOME funds and IDA affordable housing. Depending on the style of apartment, ranging from studios to three bedrooms, rates run from $846 to $1,344.

Features include Shaker-style cabinetry, sleek black granite countertops, and overhead island lighting for a clean, modern feel. At press time, about half of the units were filled.
