Three homes in the Hudson Valley have been added to the Historic Artists’ Homes and Studios, a membership network of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
Spiral House Park in Saugerties, created by artist Tom Gottsleben, comprises a stunning five-story spiral house and 45-acres of hand-cut bluestone, crystal glass, and stainless-steel sculptures; newly open to the public, as of mid-April (at press time).

Carolee Schneemann Foundation in New Paltz, housed in the artist’s 1750s residence, preserves the legacy of the multimedia creator. While the site is not open for tours, a residency program is planned for artists who share Schneemann’s commitment to aesthetic experimentation.

The Emile Brunel Studio/Residence and Sculpture Park in Boiceville welcomes year-round visitors for self-guided walking tours of concrete sculptures created by the pioneering photographer and founder of the New York Institute of Photography.
