Sherwin Williams announced last week that their 2018 Color of the Year is Oceanside SW 6496. Described by Sherwin Williams as an “opulent and mysterious green-blue hue.”
“People today have a growing sense of adventure, and it is making its way into even the coziest corners of our homes. We are craving things that remind us of bright folklore, like mermaids and expeditions across continents. Oceanside is the color of wanderlust right in our own homes,” says Sue Wadden, director of color marketing at Sherwin-Williams.
Blue can invoke a multitude of emotions depending on the hue, shade, and application, but it typically stands for intelligent, honest, and interesting.
The richness of this color allows for pops of color in small ways including on trim, doors, or accent walls, but can also be used in an entire room to make a big impact as seen here.
What do you think of their choice for Color of the Year and where would you use this hue in your home?
