As the waterfront town continues to welcome new businesses and eateries, Newburgh offers some good deals for real estate shoppers on the hunt for something with historic charm.
The restaurant scene, particularly along the Hudson River waterfront and Liberty Street, has really taken off in recent years. Can the real estate market be far behind? The median home value in in the Town of Newburgh is $228,600, according to Zillow, up 11.1 percent over the past year. The online real estate database company predicts that Newburgh home values will rise 7 percent within the next year.
Let’s take a look at five historic homes on the market right now, ranging in price from $79,000 for a condo in The Foundry at Washington Park to $599,000 for a grand Gothic Revival dating to 1856. Some are already renovated and restored, while others need a sure-footed injection of TLC and cash.
